Linda Griffiths - Director of the Bitesize Youth TheatreLinda Griffiths Director of Bitesize Youth Theatre
BA (hons) Creative arts PGCE(Dance/Drama) Post graduate certificate in Directing.

Linda has been lucky enough to have worked in the theatre for over 30 years. For 10 years she was Director of Children's Theatre for Theatr Clwyd. She has choreographed and directed about 80 musicals and over 130 plays at Theatr Clwyd, Gateway, Action Transport, Newcastle Vic, Stoke Rep, Edinburgh Festival, West End and for Bitesize where she has been Artistic Director for 24 years.
A qualified teacher of dance and drama for 30 years she teaches a range of classes at Youth Theatre and directs and choreographs the main shows and the Musical Theatre Festival groups. She was recognised for her work with Reactivate with Scottish Power/Manweb's Community Person of the Year in 2001.



Dance Specialists

Rachel Noble - Dance/Musical TheatreRachel Noble
From a young age Rachel has always had an interest in the performing arts and hasperformed in theatres, concerts and national competitions all around the UK and Europe. She trained in dance at the Whitton-Morris School of dance and Ambitions Dance Centre gaining a higher advanced level in Ballet, Tap and Modern Dance. She continued her studies at Glyndwr University in Theatre, Television and Performance and is a full member of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. She has worked professionally and has taught Performing Arts throughout North Wales.



Megan-Hollie Robertson - Dance/Musical TheatreMegan-Hollie Robertson
Megan-Hollie began as a member of Bitesize Youth Theatre and is a professional musical theatre graduate after training at the Hammond School for 3 years. She has an ALCM in Musical Theatre and her Grade 8 Acting and is an ALCM. Megan-Hollie has performed in many professional productions; most recently taking leads in 42nd Street and Gypsy for Paul Kerryson at the Altrincham Garrick; as well as Hello Dolly, South Pacific, Annie, Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Snow White and the film "Adolescence" and creating the role of Ruby in a new musical "Ruby & the 13th Door" written by Martyn Swaine. Megan-Hollie is currently study for a Degree in Performance Arts at GSA.

Music Specialists

Norma Rowles - MusicNorma Rowles GNSM (Northern School of Music), MEd (Bangor), LRAM (Singing Teacher Diploma)
An ex Opera singer and Head of Music, Norma studied music, majoring in Singing teaching and performance at the Northern School of Music in Manchester. She has worked extensively as a performer singing solo roles in many musicals and light operas and as a Vocal Coach on a large number of musicals and operettas across the North West. Norma has taught for 35 years and now teaches singing at Bitesize and has been Vocal Coach for the Ugly Duckling and Musical Extravaganza as well as teaching on summer schools. She has coached the Musical Theatre Festival group to the finals of many competitions and taken them to the Symphony Hall in Birmingham.

Joe Mann - Musical Theatre Joe Mann
Joseph grew up in Chester and trained as an actor-musician at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance. He has performed in a wide variety of performance styles and genres across the world; from the No. 1 UK and South Korean tour of Return To The Forbidden Planet, and multiple seasons at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, which included his award-winning performance in Noel Coward's Present Laughter, to newly-commissioned Theatre In Education shows, and pantomimes. He has also performed and musically directed with Pants On Fire Theatre in their multi-award-winning production of Ovid's Metamorphoses, winning both the Carol Tambour Best of Edinburgh Award and the WhatsOnStage Editor's Choice Award.



Musical Theatre Specialists

Laura Roberts - Musical TheatreLaura Roberts.
Laura trained at Phil Winston's Theatreworks in Musical Theatre and qualified as a Teacher of Performing Arts. Laura is also qualified to teach dance by the International dance teacher's Association. She teaches a variety of disciplines within the performing arts including dance (ballet, tap, modern, jazz, contemporary) drama, singing and Musical Theatre. Laura has appeared in many professional shows including "Joseph & his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat", "Evita", "Wind in the Willows" as well as a variety of Band Tributes and Pantomimes across the North West. While performing she has also taken on the role of Dance Captain and Assistant Director. Laura has been involved in the prodution team for several Youth Productions, taking on the role of Choreographer; including Les Misérables, Copacabana and Rent. She works as a freelance Performing Arts Teacher in the Wrexham and Chester area at various youth groups and part-time performing arts schools.

Sarah Giles - Drama & BTECSarah Giles
Sarah trained at Worcester College of HE graduating with a BA in English, Music and Drama, before going on to NEW College (Bromsgrove) to do her Teaching Certificates. In 2012 she graduated from Chester University with a Certificate of Education. She has worked in Schools, in Colleges and at the Helen O'Grady Theatre Academy as a Drama Teacher, and for five years she was the Education and Arts Officer for the Palace Theatre in Redditch running a 100 strong Youth Theatre and producing shows including The Wizard of Oz, The Chrysalids, Bugsy Malone and Daisy Pulls it Off. Sarah has also worked at the Hammond School teaching Drama. In her spare time Sarah can be seen treading the boards as a member of Grove Park Little Theatre, Wrexham.

Lizzie Davies -DramaLizzy Davies
Lizzy began as a member of Bitesize Youth Theatre and went on to complete the BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts at Mold Alun Sixth Form. She then went on to study for a BA Hons in Theatre Arts, Education and Deaf Studies at Reading University. Lizzy's degree encompassed all aspects of drama with her particular interests being Theatre in Education, drama for children and young people with additional needs, Physical Theatre and Sign Theatre. Lizzy has appeared in a number of productions including the role of Tracy Turnblad in "Hairspray", Killer Queen in "We Will Rock You" and Conchita in "Copacobana". Lizzy is a qualified Braillist, has Level 3 in British Sign Language and Levels 1 & 2 in Makaton.

Michelle LewisMichelle Lewis
Michelle became involved with Bitesize as a parent/helper about in 2004. She has assisted with hair, make-up and costumes on many of the Youth Theatre productions including Fiddler on the Roof, Pirates and Oklahoma!. Michelle is also one of our registered Chaperones for the children when they perform in Professional shows.



Jo HallJo Hall
Jo is particularly involved in all Stage Management
aspects of Bitesize Youth Theatre sourcing props, building scenery, assisting with rehearsals. She has been a driving force in us achieving the new Theatre. She has trained through Wrexham Children's University for First Degree Level - Volunteers for Active Community. Jo is also on the steering committee.



Jo StreetJo Street
Jo is particularly involved in all Costume aspects of Bitesize. She leads a team of volunteer Mums on all productions driving the creation of costumes and decorative hangings, upholstery, cushion covers etc. Aunty Jo is known to all our Musical Theatre Singers as a Singing Support Teacher. Jo is also on the steering committee.

HOW TO APPLY FOR WORK WITH THE BITESIZE YOUTH THEATRE
YOUTH THEATRE TUTORS

BITESIZE currently runs a total of 23 hours a week of Youth Theatre classes in the Wrexham area during term time; as well as Summer Schools, Easter and Half-term courses and two productions annually. We are looking for tutors to help deliver this.

10.00 to 17.00 per hour according to experience/qualifications

If you live locally, have Dance, Drama or Music training, particularly as a teacher, then we would like to hear from you.
Teaching Qualification OR experience in the Arts essential. Successful applicants will be required to pass a DBS check in accordance with the Protection of Children Act.

In order to be successful, you must be able to make your own way, each day of the work experience to one of our base on the Rhosddu Industrial Estate, Rhosrobin, Wrexham. [We are sorry, but we are not able to make any contribution to your accommodation or travel costs.]

Please note: You will be given a variety of tasks during the period of work and may be offered the opportunity to observe the Company during rehearsals. You will NOT be given any opportunity to perform.
